Stick ‘N Ball Sports Wallpapers Over Racing Channel…

September 6th, 2013 · No Comments

For me, August 17th was a sad day in the television landscape, as good ‘Ol ‘Rhubarb Murdick, (Rupert Murdoch) better known as Lord Vader’s all conquering Death Star known as FOX; Err 21st Century Fox forever irrevocably obliterated what was once known as SPEED, (SPEED TV or the Speed Channel) which originally began life as SpeedVision debuting on December 31, 1995.

Yet, in the grand scheme of things, Lord Vader wishes to crush the current de facto Numerous Uno (Stick ‘N Ball) 24/7 cable TV Sports Behemoth known as ESPN and has set about his dastardly plan by rebranding SPEED into Fox Sports-1, also known as FS1 I believe, with rumours claiming that another racing channel will soon go Bye-Bye, when Fuel TV becomes rebranded as Fox Sports-2, (also occurring on august 17th) a la ABC/ESPN’s ESPN2 which I prefer calling Duh Douche, even though most call it thee Deuce… As I guess it’s an inside Roadhouse joke there, since I don’t know how many times ESPN2 dumped car races in favor of some other stupid mainstream sporting event over the years…

Yet SPEED had already deliberately not renewed its contract for Formula 1, which went to rival cable TV channel NBC Sports Network instead, which seems to be picking up the pieces of discarded motor racing from SPEED, which now only has two series left that I’m even remotely interested in: MOTO GP and Grand Am Sports Car racing, which will become the United Sports Car Racing series owned by NASCAR next year, but that’s a whole nother story itself…

And it’s funny to Mwah how if Murdick truly wishes to saturate the marketplace then why isn’t FS2 currently available in Seattle on my ‘Uber Overpriced comca$t cable TV service? Not to mention another obscure cable channel called Velocity; but I digress, as I won’t even bother delving into the planned pricing escalation Murdick envisions for his grandiose plans…

Thus in Lord Vader’s desires to squash ESPN/ESPN2, pronto, he decided to go about it the easy way by simply rebranding an already established product in his vast television network, hence sadly preying upon SPEED and its estimated 75-million households viewership instead of building FS1 properly from the ground up, which means the masses of us who still watch SPEED will be forced to swallow watching all things ‘RASSCAR, as the channel’s new tag-line is “Your home for ALL things NASCAR;” BARF!

And I must say there simply seems something intuitively wrong with the new channel’s format, like I dunno, but why does it make me feel all dirty and needing a shower after watching the profusely Dumbed Down programming?
