Oh What a Feeling, as the Seattle Seahawks SHOCKED the Sports world Saturday, when those much discarded NFL losing record Division Champs defeated the reigning Superbowl champions.

And on top of it, Seattle began the game in its raucous Qwest Stadium by spotting the New Orleans Saints a 10-0 lead, before Matt Hassleback calmly marched down the field and made the score 10-7. BUTT NO! The Seahawks staked New Orleans to a second 10-point lead, when Drew Brees retaliated and gave the Saints the lead at 17-7. Yet I just sat bemused as Seattle went into the locker room at Halftime ahead 24-20…

And I missed the entire third quarter – which I’m told that Hassleback increased Seattle’s lead to 14-points – returning to the action it was a bit precarious as the Seahawks only led by 4-points 34-30, with some twelve minutes remaining.

But I just simply broke into laughter as Marshawn Lynch told the Saints defenders – CAN’T TOUCH ME! As the whirling dervish formerly of Buffalo careened his way thru six tackles enroute to a 67-yard backbreaking touchdown, as the Seahawks won by the score of 41-36…

As I even heard Troy Aikman say the following day during the Ravens vs. Chiefs game: That’s why they play the Game!

Meanwhile Rex Ryan finally got his wish, as I mistakenly turned the TV channel when the announcers seemingly were doing their best Dandy Don (Meredith) impersonation after Colts Field goal kicker extraordinaire Adam Vinatieri had just booted another pigskin thru the uprights from 50-yards out – as surely Payton Manning would be victorious over those pesky NY Jets once again, right? So imagine my surprise to learn that the Jets had beat Indianapolis at their own game with a winning 32-yard Field goal as time expired to win 17-16 at what surely was a stunned Lucas Oil Stadium crowd…

Thus, the only “Blowout” of the weekend appears to have been the Baltimore Ravens smashing the Kansas City Chiefs 30-7 on the road, while Green Bay defeated Philadelphia 21-16 also on the road. Hmm? The only Home team to be victorious was the Seattle Seahawks! As the Football Pundits were only 50% correct per their Week-1 predictions…

The early game features Baltimore, the No. 5-seed, now 13-4 going up to “SteelTown” to face the AFC’s No. 2-seed Pittsburg Steelers (12-4) at Heinz Field at 4:30PM ET on CBS.

The evening game features the No. 6-seed Green Bay Packers, now 11-6, traveling to take on the NFC’s No. 1-seed, the Atlanta Falcons (13-3) in the Georgia Dome at 8PM ET on FOX.

SUNDAY: 1/16
The early game sees the 8-9 Seattle Seahawks, the No. 4-seed traveling to the Windy City to face the NFC No. 2-seed Chicago Bears, (11-5) at Soldier Field at 1PM ET on FOX. As once again Seattle’s an 11-point Underdog.

Then the late game features Rex “The Mouth” Ryan’s No. 6-seed New York Jets, now 12-5 traveling to Fox borough to take on the National Football Leagues best regular season record team, the No. 1-seed New England Patriots (14-2) at Gillette Stadium at 4:30PM ET on CBS.
