Childress Whines, Romo Falls Down, Favre Takes it on the Chin and Moss goes deep…

November 19th, 2010 · No Comments

tony romo falls downBy now I’m assuming you’ve already read that Dallas Cowboys Star Quarter Back Tony Romo suffered a separated shoulder during the Monday Night Football game (10/25) against the New York Giants at the palatial Cowboys stadium. As 38yr old ex-Seattle Seahawks QB John Kitna was pressed into service, in a 41-35 loss. Yet Kitna has now just won his first NFL football game by taking revenge upon the Giants in the Meadowlands one week after Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones fired Head Coach Wade Phillips, after the Cowboys had faltered to a 1-7 record…

Meanwhile, Minnesota’s Head Coach Brad Childress surely must be on the Hot-seat? Having first been fined by the National Football League $35,000 for complaining publically about a close loss vs. Green Bay, claiming it was the worst Officiating he’d ever seen in his life…

Of course future Hall of Famer Quarterback Brett Favre, who’d apparently, been sending out photographs of his new shoes in emails… Seems to be losing his once immortal grip upon the mighty Pigskin, since after the NFL Investigation into his electronically sending lewd images to a New York Jets female employee; (Hey! I was just sendin’ her a pic of my new Croc‘s; Honest!) Ironically was hammered by the Packers in a 28-24 loss and ended up with two injuries to his left ankle. A stress and “avulsion” fracture which at the time looked to possibly end his Ironman NFL consecutive starts streak at 291 regular season games – making you wonder if perhaps it was his new shoes? It’s gotta be the shoes, right?

Adding insult to injury, the following week versus the New England Patriots, Favre got pummeled in the face during the Halloween night game, when he took a helmet to chin hit and required nine stitches to stop the bleeding!

Thus, Following the 28-18 loss to the Patriots, Vikings coach Brad Childress unexpectedly decided to waive the mercurial Wide Receiver Randy Moss, who he’d just spent a third round draft pick on to acquire the talented receiver from New England a month earlier.

New England – who were apparently happy to let Moss go, then swiftly reunited Seahawks WR Dion Branch with Tom Brady, as Seattle had acquired the Superbowl MVP wide receiver earlier from New England – before Mister Excitement, a.k.a. Pete Carroll came to town…

As I’m certain most know that Moss has been traded to the Tennessee Titans, who were the only team willing to claim the veteran receiver off of waivers; I’d been looking forward to him going deep for Titans QB Vince Young. But the former Heisman Trophy candidate apparently has been nursing an injured ankle himself and thus, Tennessee Coach Jeff Fisher elected to go with back-up Carry Collins instead, who ended up leaving the game against the Miami Dolphins at halftime after injuring his left calf in the first half’s final play.

Yet Young was unable to lead the Titans to victory over the Dolphins in a 29-17 loss at Miami and bristled at reports that he’d skipped therapy during the Team’s Bye-week to go to a Steak house opening instead…

While I’ve also been told that Moss made one catch in his Titans debut and then was done – apparently having run outta breath…

And now comes word that the 41yr old Gunslinger (Favre) may have suffered another injury to his surgically repaired right shoulder, claiming he felt pain in it a day before the Vikings most recent loss to the Chicago Bears 27-13. So perhaps Brett will really retire at the end of this season after all?

It’s gotta be the shoes – right?
