Packers 1st Team Puts the Smack Down on AZ Cardinals

August 29th, 2009 · No Comments

The Green Bay Packers came out to the desert and showed the Arizona Cardinals a thing or two about how to play football in a preseason game that was fully of scoring opportunities.

Aaron Rodgers looked sharp completing most of the passes he attempted and hooking up for what looked like easy touchdowns.  The Packers 1st team offense was sharp and easily poked holes through the porous Cardinals defense.

The Packers defense looked solid as well and by halftime the Packers had taken a 38 to 10 lead putting a thorough shellacking on the Cards.

In the second half, once the second teamers were in, the Cardinals took over the game and made it alot closer.  Backup Matt Lienart actually looked good throwing for 360 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Larry Fitzgerald looked as good as always and was the standout for the Cardinals 1st team offense.  Kurt Warner was sharp with most of his throws but his mobility is so limited that he was sacked for fumbles two times.

One of the brightest spots of the game for the Cards was #26 Beanie Wells.  Beanie showed why there is so much hype about him as he ran for 2 touchdowns making defensive players miss and making cuts that were seamless and easy looking.  Wells was truly impressive.
