Green Bay Packers hand Seattle Seahawks biggest pre-season loss since 1976 inaugural season

The Packers won the matchup 48 to 13 in a very lopsided affair.  If you are a Green Bay fan you have to feel good about the way your defense is playing.  They intercepted the ball 3 times and should have had even more.  They also forced 2 fumbles and returned them for touchdowns.

On the offensive side of the ball, the packers looked fairly impressive as well.  Brett Favre was sharp completing 7 of 12 passes for 74 yards and a TD.  Rookie Brandon Jackson carried the ball 13 times for 54 yards and a touchdown as the Packers starter.

If you are a Seahawks fan, you don’t have many bright spots to look at during this game.  Although, take solace that this high scoring affair really can’t be blamed on the defense.  Seneca Wallace, the Seahawks second string quarterback, fumbled the ball twice and both were returned for touchdowns.  Next came the Seahawks third string quarterback, David Green, who only managed to complete 6 of 17 attempts while throwing 3 interceptions.

Seahawk fans shouldn’t freak out quite yet as neither Walter Jones nor Sean Locklear the starting tackles for Seattle even made the trip to Green Bay.  Matt Haselbeck didn’t play this game and Sean Alexander had very limited playing time.

While Green Bay can feel happy and the Seahawks can look for answers, don’t read to much into it as it is only pre-season.
