The Lakers smashed the Sonics. Kobe Bryant was on fire, so he kept taking shots. He had 50 points and he helped the Lakers clinch a playoff birth. The Warriors and the Clippers will be fighting for the last spot. Kobe shot an amazing 18-25 from the field. The Lakers should now focus on their defense with the playoffs right around the corner. Their offense is good with Kobe averaging 31.5 points per game and Lamar Odom averaging 16 points per game. They also get a lot of offensive rebounds from Odom, Brown, Evans, Cook, and Bynum. Then there’s the defense. They are playing bad defense right now, really bad. They are giving up 103.4 points per game. They are not blocking shots or getting any steals. This is a dream for big scorers on the other team. In the playoffs they are going to face a lot of good scorers. That means elimination, unless they work on their defense. For the Lakers sake, I hope Phil Jackson really improves their defense.
