Marco Scutaro gets a lot of winning hits but this one seemed impossible. He was up against one of the best closers, Mariano Rivera. He has a .050 batting average this year. But he somehow managed to hit a 3-run homer with 2 strikes, 2 outs, and in the 9th inning. Rivera blew his chance of getting his first save this season. He got 2 quick outs in the 9th. Then Todd Walker hit a single. He walked Jason Kendall and then Scutaro was up. Alex Rodriguez had 1 run and 1 RBI. Johnny Damon had 1 run. Jason Giambi had 1 run. Jorge Posada had 1 run and 1 RBI. Robinson Cano had 1 RBI. Melky Cabrera had 1 RBI. Shannon Stewart had 1 run. Nick Swisher had 1 run. Bobby Kielty had 1 RBI. Mike Piazza had 1 RBI. Todd Walker had 1 run. Jason Kendall had 1 run. Last but definitely not least Marco Scutaro had 1 run and 3 RBI’s. The A’s got their first series of the season and will try to build some momentum. They are hoping to turn their season around and get better. The Yankees are looking pretty good right now. They are going to try and feed off of A’ Rods home run streak. Look for them to do better.
