The number 2 Florida Gators beat the number 1 Ohio State Buckeyes 41-14 in the championship. Chris Leak, the quarterback for the Gators, completed 25 of 36 passes for 213 yards and 1 touchdown. He outplayed Troy Smith, the Heisman trophy winner quarterback for the Buckeyes. Troy Smith had his worst game ever. He completed 4 for 14 passes for 35 yards. He had 1 interception and 1 fumble lost. Ohio State started off with a 93-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. After that Florida scored 21 unanswered points and dominated the rest of the game.
