Heisman Doesn’t Guarantee Success

December 9th, 2006 · No Comments

Troy Smith will most likely be named the 2006 heisman trophy winner tonight but lately has it really been worth it to win the award. Some past winners will tell you know. Andre Ware had a great college career but didn’t transform into a pro career. Jason White quarterback for Oklahoma didn’t make it either. So, why has lately these players that win the Heisman struggle?

It’s a real simple answer most players that win the heisman can fit into the NFL scheme of things. Take Eric Crouch wo was a running quarterback at Nebraska and was really never a good passer made it into the NFL but he was a man without a position and now plays a backup role in the CFL. It’s hard sometimes for players to adjust be the star than just a regular player again. They ahve to start all over and so can’t do that.
