This has been a long time coming but Jimmy Johnson finally won the Nextel Cup by finishing ninth at the homestead Speedway in Florida. Johnson has been knocking on the door the past few years but had yet to break through for a win.
In the Chase this year the first couple of races he struggled and look like he wouldn’t be a major player, but he was able to turn it around and capture the Nextel Cup Championship. Congratulations jimmy Johnson and Team Lowe’s for your new championship.
