When the Oakland A’s picked up Frank Thomas they never realized how big of a pickup it would be. Thomas homered twice and Barry Zito pitched a strong game as the Oakland A’s took Game 1 3-2 at Minnesota. The A’s are one team that has always played well the second half of the season and this isn’t any surprise to anyone.
Don’t count the Twins out by a longshot. The Twins have battled back all year and this could be the best early series in the playoffs.
