Many people look at third place as a failure except i look at it in an opposite way. Team USA was put together in a hurry and never was given the proper time needed to build teamwork no matter how great the talent is.
The World basketball championships are won by teams who have played together for years. You can’t expect to put a team together and than just grab a gold medal. it just doen’t work that way anymore.
We got spoiled with Dream Team one and what they were able to accomplish. That was a very special team and even today it probably could dominated in their prime. They were that good.
