If may be awhile before Eileen Canney arm is back to normal as the junior from Paradise California tied an NCAA Division one record with 28 strikeouts as the Northwestern Wildcats outlasted Minnesota 4-3 in an 18 inning game. Canney pitched the first game of a doubleheader and at one point threw 15 straight scoreless innings.
Her line score was pretty impressive at five hits allowed and four walks in 18 innings and of course her 28 strikeouts was the real impressive part. She might not even be able to hold her arm up today that’s a lot of innings no matter who is pitching. Congratulations Eileen
