Now I don’t usually get to upset about these end of the year awards that are handed out but one award stunned me when I heard it. Roy Williams as coach of the year from North Carolina. Its true Williams graduated a lot of his players from his championship club and still made the tournament. You have to probably say he did the best coaching job of his career.
To me though you must give it hands down to Jim Larranaga who has his George mason patriots in the final four. It’s beyond me how any other choice would be logical. The only thinking I can see is the award was voted on before the tournament got going. If that’s not true and they still voted the way they did it’s an injustice.
