Baseball and Softball are out at the 2012 Olympics, which really don’t make much sense to me or does it. Softball was just one vote short and baseball a few more shot. Baseball and softball are two sports the United States have done well in and that may have some factor to do with it.
Especially in softball the United Sates has been a juggernaut and have basically had there way the past few Olympics and maybe some countries didn’t want to compete in a sport they have little chance of winning. Softball is only real popular in a few foreign countries so I can understand the theory in dropping that one. Baseball is a little strange as Cuba and other Latin American countries have very good teams so you would think it would have had enough votes. Whatever the reasons those are two Olympic sports I loved to watch. Shame on the IOC for not putting them back in.
