Some things just seem so crazy and this one ranks right up there. The daughter of Jackie Robinson isn’t happy that Major league baseball maybe considering to retire Roberto Clemente number 21. The Hispanics Across advocacy group is the one pushing for it and Jackie Robinson’s daughter tells people his father should be the only number retired as his father started it all. Roberto Clemente was a great player but she thinks her dad should be the only number retired.
My take on this is Roberto Clemente was a superstar who many Latino ball players looked up to and use as an inspiration for these young players to make it to the major leagues. Clemente was also a humanitarian who helped as many people he could and ultimately it killed him in the end. He deserves his number retired. That’s my take on it.
