Cotton Bowl Preview

December 31st, 2005 · No Comments

Entering the new year this Cotton Bowl is a very interesting match up as Texas Tech is pitted against Alabama. Texas Tech brings in the second ranked offense to do battle with the second ranked Alabama defense. This will be an interesting test for the Texas Tech Red Raiders and quarterback Cody Hodges who has continued his assault on the record books. Texas Tech averages more than 40 points a game and 400 yards passing a game.

Alabama has had a defense that has carried them all year long being led by LBs Demeco Ryans and Freddie Roch. Alabama will try to slow down a Red Raider offense that has really only been slowed down once this season. The Tide will count heavily on Quarterback Brodie Croyle and Running back Ken Darbyto make plays. The Alabama offense will need to have long time consuming drives so they can get their defense a rest against the high powered Texas Tech offense.

This is a hard game to pick with the Red Raiders favored by 3 points. Either team could win this so its virtually a toss up but I will take Alabama and their defense too win it for them in a very close game 24-21.
