Miami-LSU Preview

December 30th, 2005 · No Comments

Miami rated number nine in the Nation boasts probably the best defense in the college game right now and without QB JaMarcus Russell the LSU Tigers will have to rely on Matt Flynn to lead them. Flynn will see a steady diet of blitzes and the front four for Miami will try and harass him all night into making bad decisions. Flynn has to stay calm in the pocket and to slow the hard charging Miami defenders down they will need to run the ball and catch them on some screen passes. This might be the only way to slow down this swarming defense.

The Tigers also have a top notch defense and it will be called on to get the Tigers the ball often by making the Miami offense one dimensional. The Hurricanes will be without start receiver Ryan Moore. The Hurricanes will rely on WR Sinorice Moss and RB Charlie Jones to step up to help the offense out. All purpose player Devin Hester could be the x-factor in this game as he can break it from anywhere on the field.

My pick will be the Hurricanes in a close game. I just think without their starting quarterback the Tigers will struggle against the Miami defense. I see a low scoring game. Miami 17-10 over LSU.
